Joachim
Last night I had a dream about twins named Jemima and Joachim - I'm not into biblical names in general, but I loe Jemima, and Joachim has been on my mind lately. I'm not saying I like or would use it, but I would like it used on someone else's child. Opinions on the name?
Read, read, read, read! Let me tell you something - last time I read a book, I was raped. Let THAT be a lesson to you.

I'm in Hungary, wher none of these names are used, but I like them nonetheless :-)

They are both beautiful bible names. Maybe that dream was a sign. Maybe later on u might have twins and name them these names. You might one day wake an absolutely be in love with both names and nothing will overcome your desire to name your twins these. Keep this in mind.
I absolutely love Joachim, especially as a middle name. It's so handsome. I don't know why it's so underused, but I'm glad it is :-)
I think Jemima might be ready for a comeback, along with Magdalene, Matilda and other "stale" names. It's pretty, but still reminds me of Jemima Puddleduck ...

I like Joachim
Or Joakim as it is mostly spelt in Sweden. Joakim is rather popular here, nn Jocke or Kim. It is so popular that people don't think about it as biblical.
Jemima is ok (I like Mimi as possible nn) but I like Jemma or Gemma better.
"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."
"It does not become me to make myself smaller than I am." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)

Which pronunciation of Joachim do you prefer? I like the French pronunciation the best.
