Carolyn and Caroline
I dont if this was mentioned before but I absolutely love the name Caroline but my aunt's (dad's sister) name is Carolyn. Are Carolyn and Caroline honestly way too close for close relatives like that? I guess in way thats like having a sister named Rose and naming your daughter Rosa but not an intention of honoring of some sort. Or if someone said "Where's Carolyn and Caroline"? Is that awkward or no?

I think it'll be okay. I like Carolyn, not Caroline. I do however like Coraline. WDYTO Coraline?

They're very close names, but I still think it could work. I'd probably use Caroline as a MN instead though.

I think it is too close, what about Cara or something?

I don't think a child and her great-aunt having very similar names is too much. Although most everyone will assume the girl is named after the aunt. How much time would they spend together?

The names are very close, but I don't think that the people are too close, at least from the perspective of the younger generation. I can't name all of my great aunts, so I don't think that your daughter would notice.

I think they are a bit too close if you don't have the intentions of honoring your aunt. I think it also depends on how close you are with your aunt.

It depends on the way they are pronounced. For example if one pronounces it CARE-o-LINE and another pronounces it CARE-o-lin, there wouldn't really be confusion.
