Genevieve...
Everyone seems to like the name Genevieve. Why is that? I think it's a bit hard to spell and pronounce. WDYT?

I love Genevieve, and would actually use it. Like others, I like the look of the G at the beginning, although I wouldn't say I like G names specifically. It just looks and sounds very pretty, and to me it's the most beautiful shade of green too. Also it can have two nicknames that I love (Ginny and Evie). I don't think it's hard to spell or pronounce at all, English or French. Although since I speak English I'd use the English pronunciation.

I can't speak for everyone else. For me, Genevieve is a nice classic and I love the French pronunciation. I like a lot of names that are difficult to spell and pronounce though.

I used to watch "Madeline" when I was in preschool, and the dog from that is named Genecieve, so that's all I think if when I hear it :)

I ditto what Melissa said. I just really like female names that start with G. The reason the spelling isn't a problem for me is because I have a pretty decent memory. It's especially easy to remember when you break the name up into smaller pieces.

Good point...Also, I've heard it pronounced GEN-ah-veev and JHAN-vee-ev. The second pronunciation helps me to remember the whole i before e thing.

I can't speak for everyone, but I tend to like girls names that start with G. Guinevere, Gwendolyn and Genevieve are some of my favorites. I don't really have trouble with spelling myself because a lot of the Welsh names I have to spell for my classes are harder.
