Jan.
A co-worker who is her 50s-60s is named this and I'm really digging it. It's her full name, no nickname and I just really like it. I'm thinking that the Brady Bunch association is dying (thankfully) and it's just really cute.I might go for Janet nn Jan but it's doubtful. I just like Jan.

Jan ('yan') is a boys' name, so that's what I thought when I saw it.Jan as a nickname is ok, but seems dated in my opinion.

I think it's quite cute too, but I see Jan as more of a boys name, as my boyfriend's (male) cousin is named this.
I would use Janet nn Jan to avoid confusion about gender :)

My Mom's ex-boss was named Jan. Granted, she wasn't the nicest person, but I think it's a pretty spunky name none-the-less!
Edit-Ok, let me rephase that. Janet reminds me of Janice on Friends (geez). I don't know why, but longer forms of Jan must do that to me. Maybe I'm forgetting some other Janet I don't remember. But either way, I'm not a fan of Janet.Edit 2- Janet Jackson. That's who Janet reminds me of.
