I really want to like Esme, especially given the fact that my oldest dd want to name her dd Esmeralda, nn Esme, one day. Despite that, I just don't love the sound which reminds me 'asthma.' I'd have to go with Charlotte here.

Charlotte is kind of overused now and doesn't seem very interesting anymore. Esmé is nice and sort of different for a change.

I really like both, but I think I prefer Charlotte. But they'd work as first/middle names either way: Charlotte Esme, or Esme Charlotte.
