It's rather attractive - I had a schoolfriend called Dawn.
My neighbour's friend (aged 81) is called Dawn, which surprises me - I didn't think anyone was called Dawn before the 1960s or so, named for a British film star called Dawn Adams.
I'd only use it (as a mn, not a fn) if the baby arrived at daybreak, and then I'd probably choose Lucy instead.
