Thanks everyone - it's going on the short list for baby #3.

I love it, as a nickname for Theresa.

I love Tess. It's such a natural sounding name to me.
Anyone with this name wouldn't have a hard time spelling it when they are little. It also ages well too. Tess sounds like a young girl to a young woman to an older lady.

It's okay, I much prefer Tessa.

I really love this name and used to have a dog called Tess. I'd actually think about using it in the future, but my bf doesn't like it.

I love Tess -- delightfully short and sweet, but substantial enough to stand on its own.It has the feel of a timeless classic (unlike Tessa, which has a very trendy feel to it to me).

I think Tess is both fun and flirty, but at the same time old-fashioned and elegant. That's rare in a name. It doesn't stand well on its own so use it as a nn for Tessa or Theresa.

I like it. I really dislike Tessa but Tess is nice.

I don't like it on its own. It's much too nicknamey, like Jen or Pam or something like that. It's all right as a nickname.

I don't mind it as a nickname for Teresa, but I think it's too insubstantial on its own.
