The boy's name Dorian is lovely, Doria just doesn't work. Not in an anglophone community, anyway. It sounds too much like Daria, etc etc, and really the only male names that can pull off what we see as feminine name endings like -a have a long, established history as male names. Eugh, I don't know. No is just -my- vote.

It makes me think of food (I live in Jpn. and it's a common menu item at family restaurants here) and I wouldn't inflict it on anybody... esp. a boy.

I can't see Doria on a real boy at all. In a fantasy story, maybe, but not for real.

Are you sure it wasn't Dorian that you heard on a boy? Dorian is gorgeous.
