I really like Saffron for a girl. I think it's so cool and unusual!

I like it. It features in the '60s Donovan song "Mellow Yellow" and has a sixties hippie culture feel, but I looked it up on Ancestry.dot com Censuses for England and Wales some time ago and found one or two from Victorian times. That must have been during the fad for flower names, saffron being from the stamens of a certain crocus. Since saffron was also the most precious of the spices, it also denotes "precious", and is also a colour name (what a gorgeous colour it is too!).

I like it for either gender

I like the look and sound of it...but will never forget an old roommate going on and on about expensive saffron (spice) and how much one little piece costs...on and on. :)

Are you thinking of it for a girl or a boy? I like the idea of Saffron, but I'm not too sure about the sound of it. I think it might be a bit of a guilty pleasure for me than a name I would actually use, personally, but it is a neat idea.

I really like it, but it always reminds of the daughter in the British show, Absolutely Fabulous (which could be good or bad, I'm not sure :)).

My sister is in love with this name. I think it is a beautiful name, but not something I would use personally.
