Re: Elinor, Eleanor, Elanor or Eleanore?
in reply to a message by Lily8
Here's how it is for me:
1. Eleanor - the most classic to me
2. Eleanore - this seems more elegant, + it's one of my favorite author's name
3. Elinor - I don't know, but this has seemed almost fake (?). Never cared for it.
4. Elanor - This just annoys me.

I think I like Elinor because it was used in Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. Elinor was more common than Eleanor in the middle ages from what I know as well. I think Elinor to me looks sweet and honest and Eleanor just makes me think of "lean" and Lea, a name that I'm not fond of.

Aye, Elinor Dashwood stimulated my fondness for Elinor. :)
