I actually say Elinor and Eleanor differently. The first has more of an "i" (like "him") and the second more of an "uh" ("ugly").
I do like them both, however. Shame Eleanor has been incredibly popular around here for the past 20 yrs or so.
Christian is male imo. Nell is an okay nn, but I wouldn't use it on its own.
