Re: Estella

1. It's okay.
2. I prefer Stella and Esther. Both feel less frilly to me and just seem prettier to me (especially Esther).
I also think an Estella might be constantly mistaken for a Stella, which could get old fast; Estella sounds sort of like Stella with a lisp to me. It's sort of a hissing-sounding name.
3. No, I hadn't thought of Dickens at all.
4. I doubtit will become too popular. Stella has a better chance of coming further up the charts, but I can't really see it ever getting into the top 100 (it seems to have levelled off a bit in the last couple of years). Esther doesn't look like it's really going anywhere. It's maintained a pretty steady spot in the 200-350 range for about half a century now.
5. I think it's harder to say than both Stella and Esther. There's something awkward about the sounds at the beginning of it.
Of your mn choices, I like:
Estella Rose
Estella Lux
