I love Candace!
I love either version; it doesn't matter if it's Candice or Candace. I'd probably pick Candace because Candice reminds me slightly of jaundice.
I dislike both nicknames; prefer CC
I agree, it does sound like canned @$$. Awkward. I'd say CAN-diss. The other pronunciations are weird... I've never heard them.
I don't like KAN-day-see because no one will say that when they see Candace. They'll think CAN-diss because that's the most common pronunciation.
The only Candace I've ever met was one of my kindergarten teachers, Candace Webb. She did not go by Candy. When I had her, I'd say she was about 45. That was about ten-ish years ago. I don't know her middle name.
I don't think it's dated at all; I think it's ready to come back.
Cadence is going to be dated to the 2000s. I much prefer Candace, even though the nn Candy is so horrible.
