1. What do you think of Jade for a girl?
It's my name so it's just normal to me. It was unusual when I was growing up but is quite common now.
2. Do you think it's a bit dated to the late 90s? It seems to have been quite trendy back then but isn't really popular at the moment. I think it is slightly dated. It seemed to lose popularity in the UK extremely quickly around 2003, mainly I think, due to a slightly ditsy Big Brother contestant.
3. Do you think it's trashy? I like it most of the time but then sometimes I do think it has a trashy feel like many jewel names (Crystal, Amber, Diamond, Jewel.....I even think Ruby sounds trashy sometimes....the only ones that never feel trashy are Emerald and Opal).
I don't think it's trashy at all, although I know some people associate it with strippers. I can think of names that are much trashier. People have always commented on how pretty it is. I do think that the gem names do have a tendency to seem trashy or dated though.
4. Do you know anybody named Jade? or Jayde (spelling variations)? Do you know how old they are or their middle names? Do you know many girls who have Jade as a middle name?
Yes, me! I'm 27, no middle names. I know another 2 girls around my age in my area called Jade, not sure of their middle names. I don't know anyone with Jade as their middle name.
5. Do you prefer an alternate spelling? Jayde, Jaid, Jaide etc? NO! I think that makes it look trashy and dilutes the name somehow.
6. Do you think it's boring or filler as a middle name?
Although I don't know anyone with Jade as a middle name, I know it was quite popular in Scotland for a while, a modern version of Jane kind of thing.
7. Do you like Estella Jade?
Yes, its okay but not quite my style. I like Jade Estelle though.
8. Estella Jade and Adelaida True for sisters? or Estella Brooke and Adelaida True?
I really hate the name Brooke, and I'm biased so definitely Estella Jade and Adelaida True, although I don't think the combo goes too well and I'm not keen on the flow of them separately either.
