Don't like it. Like in Britain it was overused here in the 70s. I see it as dated and a bit trashy. Nicola and Nikki seem to be popular Page 3/stripper names.
A friend of a friend was Nicola and said it Nee-kola as opposed to Nic-o-la. I knew someone who had a daughter Nicole "Cole" which actually suited her.
