Well Fink, I prefer Clothilde. But I dig the Frenchy old lady names.

Matilda, mostly, but if you called Clothide Chloe all the time, why not name her Chloe? I love the name Chloe!!!

Much prefer Matilda. Clothilde just looks weird to me! Sorry. I like the nn Tillie for Matilda, it's very cute.

I don't care for Clothilde at all; I don't like the word "clot" being in it (even though it's not really pronounced as such) nor the sound of the name. I like Matilda a lot. I don't really love any nn's for it, but if I had to pick one, Tillie.

I love both names; Clotilda too.My favorite nn for Matilda is Tillie. Mattie and Tilda are nice as well.

I vote for MatildaIf a nn, I like Mattie, Millie and Tillie.I am biased though, Matilda is rather popular in Sweden. It is pronounced as Mah-TILD-ah.There is also the French variant Mathilde, I think it is pronounced Ma-TILD."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I prefer Matilda
Clothilde is okay but where I live to call someone a Clot means they are stupid and slow, so this pretty name has a bit of teasing potentialA childs smile is worth more to me than Gold

Matilda! Clothilde doesn't sound as attractive. I much prefer the Tilda sound to Hilda.

Clothilde is prettier to me. My cousin had a rat named Matilda - I wouldn't use it on a person. _________________________________________________

I prefer Matilda. I knew one woman named this, her nick-name was Tilda. Clothilde is pretty challenging to non-French speakers.

I prefer Matilda. They're both in an older, classic style...but Matilda is more easily recognized. I like Mattie as a nn possibility."No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."
