Hero
WDYT of Hero for a girl? I adore it right now. I think it's spunky, and cute.

In two minds.
On one hand it's a legit girl's name but with the English word hero in mind it feels ever so slightly OTT or ambitious even. Still, I would be overjoyed to meet a female Hero. I think it needs grounding with something more mundane. I don't think all unusual names need "grounding" but Hero is a big exception.
I could also see this one on a boy. Isn't it also legitimately a male too? Again, a bit OTT.

Hero just sounds too masculine for a girl, but I wouldn't use it for a boy either because it's too pretentious.
I really like Hero but it's a GP, really.

I think it's really sweet. I've always liked it because of Much Ado About Nothing (my oldest favourite Shakespeare play, I used to be really into it).

Not sure.
I like its' history and the meaning behind it. The problem I see is that it's too much of a common word to be used. I get enough jokes on my own name and it's not even close to the commonness of Hero.
