I'm really liking Avis at the moment. I like the meaning, it doesn't sound as old woman as Mavis and it is similar to Ava which I like but not nearly as popular.

Not that I'm biased or anything... but I love this name! (It's just my posting name, but still!) It's so classy but spunky. Miles better than the ubiquitous Ava.

Love it! Unfortunately, we live down the street from an Avis Car Rental Company, it's ok with me, but my husband says no because of that. Avis is very cute. I kind of like Avis Emmeline.

I actually have liked it for a long while. and if you aren't put off by the fact that a lot of people are going to say it sounds like anus, then I applaud your taste.
