Tallulah
I was just wondering what you all thought of Tallulah for a girl. I've loved it for quite a long time, it was even on my list for some time and I'm considering putting it back on it. I just love the sound, the meaning and the nicknames Tali/Tallie or Lula which I would use from time to time.
I do however have one problem with it. People seem to think it's hipster or that people who name their child Tallulah are trying too hard to be cool etc. I really just love the name. I was just wondering what people would think someone who named their kid Tallulah would be like. Just wondering though I don't really mind if people think I'm trying to be hip :P
Do you think it'll become popular? Do you know any little Tallulahs? How old are they and do they happen to know their middle names or why their parents chose the name? How do they spell it?
Also would you use Tallulah, Talula, Talullah, Talulla? I think some of them are actually unrelated.

I love the name Tallulah and to my surprise, so does my bf! I'm very pleased about that actually! Anyway, I don't feel it's a name that will become really popular, because it seems to be a name that people either love or hate. I've never met anyone with this name either. I also don't think it's a "trying too hard to be cool" name at all. My fave spelling is Tallulah and that's really the only version I do like. Lula is my fave nn.
Tallulah is beautiful, quirky, and melodic. It's fun to say, plus i reminds me of the ever-funny and witty Tallulah Bankhead. I would definitely use this name. A British celeb named her daughter Tallulah Lilac a few years ago and I LOVE that combo. I think it's just beautiful. I'd use the spelling Tallulah.
I don't know any Tallulahs personally, and I doubt the name would break into the top ten in the States anytime soon.

I too love the name Talullah and always have. I considered it for my first DD because both my husband and I adored the name. In the end, I dismissed it for many of the reasons you mentioned. I do think some people perceive it as 'now' name or one used by people trying to be hip. Having said that, I think it's hard to avoid names that are considered 'hipster' these days. We ended up naming our daughter Scarlett and I know it has the same issues. In the end, I think you should pick a name you love and ignore those who might comment negatively- any name that is not in the top 50 can be considered 'try hard' and I find that looking at these name boards just often makes you feel worse- It's impossible to predict if some celebrity might name their child a name, thereby making it's popularity rise etc....if we avoided every name either held by a celebrity or used by a celebrity, we wouldn't be left with very many choices:)
As for the spelling, I prefer Talullah as it is of Irish origin which is my background- it appeals to me more for this reason- I love the nickname Lulu!!!!

I think it's an okay name, not one I would choose but still very pretty. I really wouldn't think a person was trying too hard if they gave their daughter this name. I would just assume they liked more unusual names. I do prefer Tallulah to the other spellings.
