Constantine
I'm having some issues with this name. First of all, how do you prefer it spelled? There's Constantine, Constantin, Konstantin. And what do you think someone who has it would be like? Also, does Constantine work on its own without a NN, because Connie and Stan have both been suggested to me and I don't like either (I don't mind Connie on a girl, though - it made me think that could be the Byzantine equivalent of a boy named Sue). I've also paired it with my most outrageous, guiltiest GP - Caligula. It could be eitherConstantine Caligula
Constantin Caligula
Konstantin Caligula (I think this looks vampire-ish!)WDYT?

I LOVE the name Constantine, and I knew the cutest little boy named Konstantin with this spelling (my favorite spelling), and his nickname was Kosta (COE-sta). Love it.Hate Caligula, sorry.

It is the most fantastic name ever and my son WILL be named ConstantineHe will be.End of story. But my favorite combo of all time is (sadly) Viktor Constantine, which would put the love of my life in the MN position. That thoroughly upsets me, actually haha! Oh well, I may have to live. I think Caligula is kind of bad, just because of the emperor. Not really the greatest guy, you know?

I adore Constantine. My preferred spelling is Constantin and other possible nicknames could be Costa or Gus.
Caligula stinks, even as a middle, I think, though. (I'd be horrified if it was mine, to say the least!) :)

I'm sorry, but......I absolutely despise this name. I don't know why, but I've always had such a strong reaction to it; I feel like it is one of the dumbest names I have ever heard, and I don't understand-WILL never understand-why it is so loved.Okay, I'm done complaining now.

DittoCaligula is also pretty horrible.

But there's a big difference between Constantine and CaligulaConstantine brought religious freedom and acceptance to the Roman Empire. Caligula murdered thousands. It's fine if you dislike Constantine as a name, but historically it cannot be compared with Caligula.

I know, Caligula should not be used on a human being ever. Constantine is fine as a name I just don't like it.

That's fine.

This is hypothetical (edited)OK, so it's been about a day, and now I'm just over Caligula. As much as I sort of like it, it's too outrageous. WDYTO Constantine Valerius instead?

I LOVE Constantine!I absolutely adore it. I like all spellings, actually. Where I live, you'd be most likely to come across a Konstantin (which is unfortunately getting trendy), but I would personally use Constantine.I think Connie is hideous as a nickname, Stan is a bit better. I'm pretty sure a three-syllable name would get shortened somehow anyway.
