Martha
I really been drawn to Martha lately. What are your opinions of it? Too old-fashioned? So old-fashioned it's cool? Something else? I know a couple Marthas in my age category (early-mid 20s), and recently at a restaurant I heard a mother call her adorable little daughter "Martha". That's when it struck me as a really lovely name. Thoughts?

I love this name, I actually know two adorable little girls named this. One was Martha Evangeline (nn Marley and Mary), and Martha Claire (nn Marti and Molly)

I love Martha. I love her with the white-hot intensity of a thousand fiery suns.
Martha is just... she's just all-around awesome, you know? She's classy, but certainly not afraid to speak her mind. She's worldly and fiercely intelligent, but always practical as well. She's warm and genial, but by no means does she let people walk all over her. She is kickass, hands down, no more questions asked.
Also, despite the fact that I've seen all of five seconds of Doctor Who, Martha totally makes me think of Freema Agyeman. Who is stunningly gorgeous, in my not-so-humble opinion.

I love this name. It was on my short list for my daughter. I've only known two Marthas (one older and one my age.) I like the nn Marti, too.
I love Martha. I love Marta a bit more, but I do love Martha. I do think it is a bit frumpy though, not something I would ever really use. Still, I would be very happy to hear it.
I like Martha a lot. I am not sure why since I don't like Martina or Martin especially. I have only met one Martha who bought a phone off me several years ago. I think it falls into the so old-fashioned it's cool category.
I like it. It is kind of so old-fashioned it's cool, and edgy with the nn Martie/Marty.
It's nice, but I prefer Marta.
Ditto
I dislike the TH sound in that place. Marta is much nicer.

I don't like it at all.
It's very old, frumpy and dowdy.

I agree, it's also very George Washington's wife.
I really like Martha. It's a great name.
I'm a Doctor Who fan and Martha grew on me a lot during the second season of the show. I realized then how well the name works on a modern woman.
