This is my daughter's name. I forgot about Shrek when I used it. I don't think the association is bad so I don't worry about it now. Had I remembered the association when I named my daughter I may have reconsidered. But as more and more movies and books come out, more names get used on characters, and it seem pointless to try to avoid a name just because of an association, because then the only names left would be the ones that are so commonly used that they are generic.

More than the association, I am also somewhat disappointed that the name is not as unusual as I thought. I actually fear it is getting trendy. But I still like the name.
