WDYTO Sidonie? How do you pronounce it?
I;ve been favoring it for a while now, and was windering what others thought of it.

It would be pronounced ZEE-do-nee or see-do-NEE.....I know one who pronounces it ZEE-do-nee, her full name is Sidonie Katja (KUHT-ya). think it's okay. Nothing special but quite interesting. Huge problem in English speaking countries: people might pronounce it like Sidney/Sydney and think it was a very creative spelling.
My best guess would be SI-doh-nee or SEE-doh-nee but idk for sure. I don't care for it. I know it's a real name in it's own right but it looks like a trendy spellng of Sydney imo.
I say si-DOH-nee, but it's actually more like si-doh-NEE. It's okay, I don't like it but I don't hate it.
Actually, it's supposed to be pronounced more like sid-oh-nee
I don't know where the stresses are, though, but for what I know, it is definitely NOT pronounced Sid-nee.

I would say si-DOH-nee unless/until otherwise corrected.
It works well with your name because (according to the comments) the French writer Colette's mother was named Sidonie :P
I can understand the appeal, but I don't like it. It sounds too much like trendy, insubstantial Sydney-on-a-girl to me.
I prefer Sigourney and Sojourner.
