Madleen or Madeleine?
Whats the better way to write it? Madleen or Madeleine?
I fear the NN of a girl named Madeleine could probably be Made.
What do you think of the name?

I know quite a few Madeleine/Madeline/Madelyns and not one is called "Made". If they do have a nickname its always Maddie. She will have more trouble in life with the name Madleen for sure.

Definitely MadeleineMadeleine is so much prettier and refined. It looks more elegant and classic, whereas Madleen I just find ugly. I just think it sounds too disjointed... Mad-leen *shudders*

I think you have no idea how to pronounce them.Madeleine = mah-deh-LENN or mahd-LENNMadleen = mahd-LAYN or mad-LEENwhy would they nickname her Made ? the sound doesn't even appear in Madeleine.I prefer Madeleine. Madleen looks ugly.

Madeleine!Madleen is scary and would be not be pronounced mad-eh-LEN, but mad-LEEN. Different name.Madeleine is pretty.Made doesn't make much sense as a nickname. Maddy and Mads do, as well as Nell, Len, Lena, Della, Ellie...

Definitely MadeleineMadleen looks like a different name entirely, and not a very attractive one at that. I've never heard of a Madeleine being called Made. "Made" isn't even part of the name as it's pronounced. She might get called Mad or Maddie occasionally, but she could also get called that if her name were Madleen.

MadeleineBy far. Madeleine is pretty. Madleen looks funny to me, and it really brings out the "mad" part. Plus Madeleine sounds much nicer. I don't see how a Madeleine would ever be called Made. Maddie, yes, but Made doesn't make any sense.

Madeleine hands down. Madleen looks trendy and made up. I've never heard of a Madeleine being called Made, if anything it could be "Maddie"(which I don't like).

MadeleineSince Madeleine isn't prn Made-lynn, I really doubt anyone would call her "Made". Madleen looks like "Mad lean"-- it's the opposite of Happy Fat.

Happy Fat, lmao!*wipes tear from eye* Too funny.I also much prefer Madeleine. If anything she'd be called Maddie (though personally I'd try to curb that from the get go.)

Madeleine is beautiful and is my favorite out of all the possible spellings. I've never seen it spelled Madleen before. It looks very odd too me. I wouldn't worry about her being called Made...I have never ever heard that one, and I've known tons of Madeleines over the years.
