I am with you. I think that it's still popular because now people have figured out how to modernise it with "Jase."
I have cousins named Jason and Jonathan. Their names frustrate me so much. (They're younger than I am - like 10 and 13 or something.)
Umm Faulkner for me made Jason go from a Blah Boring 70's Incredibly Boring Awfulsounding Blah Blah Blah Like Eating A Fistful Of Crackers to All those things + Really evil. So nothing positive to say about this.
