Objectively speaking, I like the name Jason, and I can see why it was appealing to so many people way back when it first became popular. As you say, though, it is dated now, but that's not its only problem. It was way too popular, and there are way too many Jasons. So it's in the same category as Sarah and Joshua for me. They are all nice names, but I've known so many people with these names that I'm sick to death of them. Jason needs a long rest.

Edited to add: Christopher also. Way too popular, way too many. Except that I don't like Christopher.
