Cynthia
I've always liked this name a lot, but don't care at all for the nickname Cindy. One of my best high school friends was named Cynthia, but she was always called Cindy. A college friend of my husband's married a Cynthia who was always called Cindy. There was another girl in my high school named Cynthia who went by Cynthia, but I noticed that she frequently had to correct people who tried to call her Cindy.
What do you think? Do you like Cynthia? Are you okay with Cindy? Do you think Cindy is very hard to avoid? Or is Cynthia too dated?

Cynthia is my little brother's girlfriend's name. Nobody ever calls her Cindy. I don't like Cindy, but I like Cynthia.
Oh, I love Cynthia. I think it has such a soft, airy feel to it. I know a handful of young Cynthias--none of them actually fit my impression of the name, they're all kind of sassy women--who go by Cynthia without trouble, to my knowledge.
I'm all for it. It is one of those names that I can objectively see why it would give a dated impression, but it just doesn't have a dated sound to me, if that makes sense.

I have a cousin named Cynthia who went by Cindy until she was 8, then she started going by the full name. She says "it was easy enough to switch, when people called me Cindy, I just told them no, Cynthia". She uses Cyn (sin, which was awesome when we were clubbing in our 20's) or Thea as nicknames now that she's an adult. I think Cindy would be cute on a toddler but after that, I'd switch too.
I quite like Cynthia, but hate Cindy. I think these days, in Australia at least where Cindy was never really big, Cindy would be quite easy to avoid. But I hate it so much that I don't think I would be game to risk it...or risk my daughter choosing to go by Cindy
I dislike Cindy but I like Cynthia. I love Lucinda and am worried they would call her Cindy as well. I know a Cindy (full name) and she is the nicest girl in the world but still i don't like the name which is weird because usually names grow on me when i see them on such a nice person. I do like Cynthie as a nickname, though
