I think Rosemary is better than Mary Rose and that Rose or Rosie would be the preferable nickenames. No idea if it will be popular.

I think it's an extremely feminine name. Nothing wrong with being feminine of course, but this is just too much of a good thing. It's prissy.

I love the name Rosemary and prefer it to Mary Rose. I'd call Rosemary, Rosie for short.

I love Rosemary and no, I don't think it'll get too popular. Actually, my favorite nick for Rosemary is Romy but I do like the other two.Mary Rose is okay, I suppose. I just don't like the way the r's run together.

I might have loved this name if it wasn't for the fact that I have a friend named Rosemary, and for her personality it is so sickeningly sweet on her. She's blond and freckly and always has her head in the clouds, and I know her mom was going for the Little House on the Prairie feel (think of a Luna Lovegood type personality). Most people call her Rosie these days. I've always called her Rose. Once again, on her, it seems too sickeningly sweet to me. I might like it better on the right person though. I've heard of a hispanic girl by this name that I thought was lovely on. But I prefer the Hispanic Rosario. I've never seen Mary as a natural nn for Rosemary. I prefer Rose. I adore the nn Romy though, which has been long forgotten.

I think Rosemary is very sweet. I don't know how popular it will get, but it'll probably stay on the top 1000 (US) list for a good long while. For a nn I'd prefer Romy to Rosie or Mary.
Definitely Rosemary over Mary Rose.

It's my name but I've only recently come to appreciate it. I can't see it becoming popular.I personally hate the name Mary and am not keen on Rosie either although some people do call me Rosie. I generally get called Ro (my fave nickname) or Rose. A girl at school called Rosemary went by the nickname Romy with her family.I don't like Mary Rose. I just think of Henry VIII's warship.

I love Rosemary. It's better than Mary Rose, because Rose is a bit filler (I know, it's my mn).I don't know about popularity. I prefer Rosy/ Rosie or Romy.

Rosemary has a creepy vibe to me, because of the book and film "Rosemary's Baby". I like the book and the movie, but they give the name that vibe for me.

I really should get round to seeing that film! I know somebody once made a joke saying if I had a baby it would be Rosemary's Baby.

Oh, is your name Rosemary? I hope I didn't offend. There's nothing inherently wrong with the name itself, it's just a personal thing to me. But yeah, you should see the movie, it's very good.

No you didn't offend me! Very few people ever comment on it but I feel that I should see it before I have kids at least so I know the reference.

I like it. I don't see it getting popular in the US any time soon. I think I'd prefer Mary as a nickname because it's not as common these days as Rose and Rosie. Although neither of those are very popular in the US anyway. Except for Rose as a mn. Gah.Mary Rose is nice too, but I prefer Rosemary.

I like it, it's been growning on me recently. I don't know if it could get caught up into the "sweet and old-fashioned" trend. I don't like Mary Rose, it's very dowdy and old-ladyish.
