I prefer Ingrid. I'm just not a fan of Astrid; it sounds severe and, well... astringent (first word which comes to mind)

Wow that's tough. One of my fave name is Astrid. But I also really like Ingrid, since it a royal name in Denmark. It was the name of our former Queen Ingrid, deceased, and the mother of our current Queen Margrethe II. It's also two very traditional Scandinavian names, so it's a tough call here, but I'll have to go with Astrid.

Ingrid is so much nicer. Astrid is harsh sounding to me, and I think they'd get teased a lot because of the 'ass' in the name.

Both are nice but I prefer Astrid.

Astrid by far. It's a very refreshing name to me. I would go with a more classy or dated middle name to balance it out. Astrid Lillian
Astrid Isabella
Astrid Gwendolyn
Astrid Lorraine
Astrid Virginia
Astrid Caroline
Astrid Josephine

I love Ingrid. Astrid has an interesting sound, but I can't get past the "ass" part in the beginning. :(What about Ingrid Pearl, Ingrid Camille, Ingrid Josephine?

I really like both names. I actually like Astrid spelled Astrud (like Astrud Gilberto) .... but I think that I prefer Ingrid. To me it has a beautiful and clear sound.

I like them both but I prefer the sound of Ingrid to Astrid. For a mn, something with softer consonants like m, f, g, s, or th."To love another person is to see the face of God." ~Victor Hugo
