Re: Aisling
Funny, I thought it would be pronounced with the "ay" sound at the beginning too, not "ash," but I was wrong. I checked another site to see more about the name and it's pronunciation, and I got this:The girl's name Aisling \a(i)-sli-ng, ais-ling\ is pronounced ASH-ling. It is of Irish and Gaelic origin, and its meaning is "dream, vision". Not in use as a given name during the Middle Ages, but was adopted as part of the Irish revival in the 20th century. Ashling is the Anglicized form.Aisling has 6 variant forms: Aislinn, Aislyn, Aislynn, Ashling, Ashlynn and Isleen.Baby names that sound like Aisling are Alenka, Julinka and Yulinka. --------------------------------------------------------------------Personally, I still like the "ling" spelling best. I can't help but wonder how the other site came up with those last 3 names as sounding similar to Aisling...
