Eden
What do you think of Eden for a girl ? I like it quite a bit but everytime I ask my friends about it they say it's trashy and that it's going to be very popular soon and that it will become the next "Destiny". Do you agree ? Does it sound as if the parents were very religious ? Is it trashy ? Will it become popular ?

Well I love it and don't find it trashy at all. I'm really hoping that it doesn't become really popular and trashy though, as that would be a real shame. I don't think just because Eden is Biblical, that people would instantly think that the parents are religious. There are plenty of Biblical names that get used these days.
I love Eden as a girls name, but that might be because my neighbor is a sweet little girl with that name.
I don't think its trashy, and I desperately hope it doesn't become the next Destiny, but as a FN I have to say it is very religious.
I am a firm agnostic, and I love this name, and its actually #1 on my MN list, so I think its useable, but maybe not as a FN for everyone.

I only like it on a boy. I met my first Eden yesterday :)
I really hope it doesn't become the next "Destiny". I think Eden is sweet, but I myself would only use it as a middle name. I think it does give an impression that the parents of the child are christian, but not as much as having 5 chilrden with names like Faith, Hope, Charity, Grace and Mercy would... I think if you mix it up with other non-religious names it won't seem "churchy".
I tend to agree with your friends. This was one of the first names I ever fell in love with, years and years ago, but now... it really does seem to be on its way to becoming the next Destiny.
Eden doesn't necessarily sound like the parents were very religion, it's not trashy (yet), it probably will become extremely popular. I wouldn't be surprised if it skyrocketed up of the popularity charts within the next couple of years.
As a side note, I think Eden on a boy would be sweet.
