I find Hope to be unattractive. It doesn't have a pleasant sound and if it didn't have such a positive meaning I doubt anyone would think of using it as a name. Well, it's fine as a mn, I suppose. That would depend on what it was paired with.

Faith, on the other hand, is lovely. It's so soft and gentle. I wouldn't assume that a parent with a child named Faith was religious, but I try to judge people on an individual basis. I hate Fay, it sounds silly, so never use that.
