They were lovers, it's just like using Romeo and Juliet or Tristan and Isolde for brother and sister. Rather weird.
For some reason I didn't think of it that way. Eh. I retract my opinion. :)
And for the record, I didn't think of Heath Ledger at all. I didn't know he had a sister named Cate. Not sure if that's common enough knowledge to matter. But it's obsolete anyway because of the above information.
