Most Irish name you can think of?
What is the most Irish name you can think of? I'm just curious...
I met an Aonghus last week and for some reason I thought that sounded very Irish (love the spelling too). And yesterday when I was on a Dublin walking tour our guide was named Ailbhe (she spelled it out loud) which might be the most Irish feminine name I've heard on a real person so far.
So the most Irish feminine and masculine name in your opinion?

For a boy, it's either Cianan or Killian (but I like the first one so much better). For a girl, I'd say Siobhan.I actually like Cionnfhaoladh a lot. Too bad I'd never remember how to spell it (and I'm like the best speller I know!) and the kid wouldn't be able to spell it either.

Anything not anglicized......like Caoimhe, Niamh, or Aoife. I don't really like Irish names because many of them (particularly Aidan and Liam) have become overused jokes.

When I picture a quintessentially Irish name, it has to be Sean for me.

Patrick and Katie. No, they're not IRISH names, but I definitely think of Irish people when I hear them.

Most Irish name I can think of? Saoirse. The spelling, the meaning, the pronunciation, everything about it is very, very Irish.

When we lived in Australia, my daughter had a friend who had immigrated from Ireland. Her name was Eimear. I had never heard the name before, and haven't met anyone else with it since. I can't say I care for it, but it's the most Irish name I've run across on a real person.

I think the more amount of seemingly unnecessary letters it has, the more Irish it looks. So like Caoilfhionn and Toirdhealbhach. :)
