Re: Female Celtic Deity Names - What's usable, what's not, likes, dislikes?
in reply to a message by Hufflepuffer
I like these are usable in the U.S. at least:
Andraste
Aventia
Britannia
Coventina
Damara
Damona
Sabrina - Definitely usable.
Sirona
Tamesis - Probably more practical as a MN.
Verbeia - Close enough to Verbena, which is used as a FN occasionally.
Branwen
Ceridwen
Elen
Gwenn
Olwen
Rhiannon
Áine
Brigid
Morrígan
Niamh
Sheela
The very Irish names, like Cliodhna, Ethne, and Fionnuala, would be fine as MN's in the U.S. or as FN's with more anglicized spellings.
I love Olwen.
