Well, a few years ago, my daughter obtained a calico kitten, and we were deciding what to name her. My daughter suggested Beatrix, because that was the name of a character in her favorite movie, "Kill Bill". I thought that was too much of a mouthful, and countered with "Trixie", a nickname for Beatrix, so that was what we named the kitten.

So that's what I think of when I hear Trixie, a calico cat. I think it's a great cat name, not so much for a person.
