I really can't see it as a name. It seems like someone put a few letters together and didn't think of the result. To me it doesn't sound good.

It's okay. I find it to be quite masculine as in my mind both the sounds Kel and Lad esp. Lad are very masculine. Also I wasn't impressed by that set of Tamora Pierce books

To be honest, I think its hideous. It seems very trendy and after looking at the entries on this site, I would say it was probably made up by the author who used it in her fantasy novels.

I had a look at your name list and you have some lovely names on there, I think you should stick with those and forget about this disaster of a name.
