Penelope!
Hey everyone! I just wanted your opinions on the name Penelope, because I've recently fallen in love with it. So I have two questions: can you think of any combos? And secondly, how about nicknames? I can only think of Nell, Nellie, and Penny, and I'm not really a fan of any of these. Any ideas?

This has been rising on my list lately, and now I'd say it's definitely in my top 5, if not my top 3. I think it's simply fabulous. It's so underused in the US!As for nn's, I love Nellie myself! I can't really think of any others besides those that other people have already suggested. The only Penelope I've ever met, however, didn't use a nn.

I will be brutally honest…I HATE IT! It’s too old fashion and far too girly (and overused)I sound it in my ears
"Pinelopi ela edo!" "Pinelopi ela na fas to fagito sou!!!" Yiakes

You might be able to get away with Poppy as a nn -

i love Penelope, it's my cousin's name. she's Penelope Lily, which I don't love, I think a solid one-syllable middle name would work well. Ann, Blythe, Claire, Faye, Hope, Jane, Rose, and Ruth are a few suggestions.
for a nn you could call her Pen-e-lope, pronounce it like it's spelled, or just call her P.

I really like Blythe as a nickname - thanks!

How about Polly ? I think it's cute. Even Lottie could work and Nellie. I like the name Penelope but it sounds really stupid pronounced in German. So I can't use it. It makes me think of the dragon in the "Barbie" movie. Yes I watched it, embarrassing I know. But I bet a child would actually like that. Penelope Fay
Penelope Violet
Penelope Sophia
Penelope Grace
Penelope Annabel
Penelope Joy
Penelope Hazel
Penelope Isabelle
Penelope Isadora

All those are great combos! I especially like...Penelope Fay (though I'd probably spell it "Faye")
Penelope Joy
Penelope KateLottie is a good idea - I wouldn't have thought of that! (Don't worry about the Barbie thing - I've watched that movie too! =D)

My aunt's name is Penelope Jane. She goes by Penny (or Mel / Melly to family, but that's only because her little sister couldn't say her name when she was small!)I guess you could use Ella / Ellie as a nnS xx

Penelope is nice.
How about Pen or Neppie as a nn? To be honest, I don't think any nn will do it justice.
