Thames and Koen
Yeah, I recently saw the post where it said the name Koen was offensive. my question to those of you who DON'T think it's offensive, what do you think of it?and secondly:
Thames. I know, it sounds like a last name. it probably is a last name, it's a river. but it just..sounds nice, to me.

I don't really like the sound of the name Koen.
Don't really like Thames either.
My cousin named his son Kolby Thames.

It wasn't Koen, which is okay since it's a Dutch name. But most people in the English-speaking world are probably using it as a variant of the "name" Cohen, which I thought was offensive because it's a (rather stereotypical) Jewish surname.

I love Koen, I cannot understand why it would be offensive (mind you, I'm Dutch and this is a very nromal name for me), I like it best pronounced correctly (KOON).Thames is nice, but a bit like James mispronounced.

I don't find Koen offensive, but it's just a Jewish surname to me, you might as well name a child Katz or Rosenberg if you're at it.Thames is a river in England, it's really weird for me to use it as a name.

I love Cohen, and presume Koen is pronounced the same, so I like it!I'm not so keen on Thames though
