Thames and Koen
Yeah, I recently saw the post where it said the name Koen was offensive. my question to those of you who DON'T think it's offensive, what do you think of it?
and secondly:
Thames. I know, it sounds like a last name. it probably is a last name, it's a river. but it just..sounds nice, to me.

It wasn't Koen, which is okay since it's a Dutch name. But most people in the English-speaking world are probably using it as a variant of the "name" Cohen, which I thought was offensive because it's a (rather stereotypical) Jewish surname.
I don't find Koen offensive, but it's just a Jewish surname to me, you might as well name a child Katz or Rosenberg if you're at it.
Thames is a river in England, it's really weird for me to use it as a name.

I love Cohen, and presume Koen is pronounced the same, so I like it!
I'm not so keen on Thames though

Nope
It's pronounced KOON. So I'd stay away from it.
