Terence
Recently (exactly a week ago, actually), my grandfather died. I was incredibly close to him. Anyway, before I get all into that and start tearing up, I'd like your opinions on how I should honor him.
His full name (fn & mn) was Terry Lee.
I don't much like Terry, and though I always planned to use Lee as a middle name to honor him, I feel like maybe it's not enough. I suppose I'll make that judgment if I were to ever have a son.
Anyway, wdyto Terence? I'd never liked it before, but when I thought about it, it kind of softened my heart. I probably would not use Terry as a nickname, so if there are any nns you think up for Terence other than Terry, I'd like to hear them.
Also, combos from you all would be great :] You're all very creative and I enjoy seeing what everyone likes.
Here are a few combos I've come up with:
Terence Daniel
Terence Isaac
Terence Joseph (Joseph is the mn of my brothers, my father, his father and that father's twin brother, and their father.)
Terence Raphael (too many r's?)
Terence Christian

Any way, Terence makes me think of a turtle.
I'm sorry about losing your grandfather. It's sweet of you to want to use his name for a child to honor him.
I'm glad you're starting to warm up to Terence because I've always felt it was an overlooked gem of a name. It has both a dashing quality and an intellectual one which isn't easy in one name. I find it very attractive. Terence sparkles. I can't think of any nn, though, other than Terror. ;-)
Terence Isaac, Terence Daniel and Terence Joseph are my favorites from your list. With the family significance of Joseph, I'd say go with that one above the others. But just because I can't resist making combos, here's a few more to ponder:
Terence Leland
Terence Liam
Terence Leo
Terence Leander
Terence Ian
Terence Edward
Terence Peter
Terence Michael
Terence Pascal
Terence Noel ("nohl")
Terence Desmond
Terence Andrew
Terence Victor
Terence Dominic
Terence Emil
Terence Lachlan

Terence is ok. Honestly I would go with Terry personally because it was your grandpas name and it would honor him more in my opinion. Terry Lee would be very refreshing on a little boy today. But if I had to go with one of your Terence combos it would Terence Joseph. Thats really nice plus the family connection
I don't mind Terence. I dont like Terry though (no offence to your deceased Grandad). Terence is quite appeal especially when the full name is used. Though I heard the nn Rence, which I don't mind, or Ren.
Other combos,
Terence Elliot, this is a pretty handsome combo.
Terence Raphael is good too. I like it.

Terence Joseph is awesome because of the family connection!!
Terence is not a favorite of mine but I love the significance behind it. A nice nickname other than Terry could be Ren.
*hugs*
I am SS for your loss.
