I really like this name, but not in English-speaking countries...
...as I think it would be a bit of a problem there, you know, pronouncing the name correctly. You wouldn't do the child a favour with the name. I think, many people would misread it and say Marianne and so on.
I really like the name, though, if pronounced correctly (like you've said). I think it's pretty and not so common, neither in Germany nor anywhere else, I think (hm, maybe in Israel or so, I don't know^^).
