Mackenzie and David.
I haven't found this topic anywhere, so I'll ask you myself.
What do you think about Joanne K. Rowling's children's names, David Gordon and Mackenzie Jean (f)?
I've fallen in love with Mackenzie, although it's a difficult love *laugs*, because sometimes I think "Too much of a last name, too male, anyway", sometimes "a bit trashy..." and then again I really love it.

I think the names don't go together at all. Her oldest daughter is named Jessica. I think she chose boring and rather trashy names (Mackenzie only) for her children. I bet people in Britain think it's super weird that she has a daughter named Mackenzie. Isn't that a guys name there ? I prefer it on a boy. The first time I heard the name Mackenzie was when I watched "7th Heaven" and there was little Mackenzie Rosman. I remember thinking "how ugly". Then a bit later I was like "isn't that a last name" ? I never really liked it but for some reason I prefer McKenzie (I have a good friend named McKenzie so I kind of like that spelling because I like her a lot).
David is nice and boring so is Jessica (though not as nice).
I wonder why her kids have oh so boring names. Think of all the lovely names she used. Hermione, Lavender, Bellatrix, Genevra and I loved how she used Ron...and her children get those boring names. Weird...

Mackenzie is nice, I love it on a boy and would consider it on a girl. It's trendy, but I never thought of it as trashy nor does my circle of friends.
Myckenzi would be trashy / lower class.
David is a classic, I enjoy it quite a bit and if there wasn't some stuff associated with the name I would strongly consider it.

I totally agree with you, on everything. Funny.
David Gordon- I love David, probably because it's been used as a first and middle name in my family for four generations so I'd consider it as a mn for a future kid but Gordon's nms. Gordon David would flow better.
Mackenzie Jean- Uggggh to Mackenzie! Sorry, but it's a name that's so modern and I tend to associate with chavs but I'm sure it was and is a fine surname. Jean's fine for a middle name but reminds me of old ladies born in the twenties.
Her other daughter, Jessica Isabel, has a nice name.

Oh, I forgot about her, right. Jessica Isabel.
