Kit
Do you think Kit would be fine as a full name? I know it can be a nn for either gender, but I would use it for a girl.
I think Kit is cute, but I really don't like Katherine.
So, Kit as a full name?

Makes me think of a kitten or a baby beaver (which I think is called a kit). Or even a tool kit! Kit just seems insubstantial as a full name. Sorry.

I think it's better as a nn and tbh I only like it for a boy.

It's nice as a nn, just very insubstantial as a full fn. I find it difficult to accept nn as first names when they are everyday vocabulary words too. Kit fits into that. Plus, right now I have "take your kit off" come to mind. Not the best connotation. How about:
Kirsten, Kiersten, Kirstin, Kirsty, Kerstin
Kristen, Kristy, Kristin
Kestie (Kester)
Nikita
Karita
Katarina, Katerina, Catalina, Katinka, Katalin
Katelyn, Kaitlin
Kathleen
Kalika (apparently from Greek for "rosebud")
Katrine
Katisha (a character in The Mikado)

I can't take it seriously as a full name.
How about Katarina, Karina, Katja or Karen instead of Katherine?

I also love this nn, but I think it's too short to stand alone. You could use Kit as a nickname for Kristina if you really dislike Katherine. Or you could also consider some variants of Katherine like Katia (which I really love) or Katrina.

I don't like Kristine either.
Katia is cute, but it seems too Russian to me, and I have no Russian in me at all, so to me it seems weird.
Katrina I like too, I always considered Kat the nn I'd use for Katrina, but I like Kit better..even though it doens't make as much sense..lol
