I love Paloma. I like the meaning and the sound of the name.

I do really like the sound of this name. It sounds like a type of bread to me for some reason. But I love that it's the Spanish word for dove. The possible pidgeon meaning doesn't bother me because technically pidgeons are a type of dove called the Rock dove. Any time you say the word dove in English, you could potentially be referring to pidgeons, just like with paloma, but dove will be the first to come to mind I'm sure.

I think it's lovely, really. It's unique and different, but not like, MckQuinleigh or something atrocious like that. Very nice.

I've always been a little leery of Paloma, since although it means "dove," the same word in Spanish can also mean pigeon. That said, I know a little Paloma who generally gets a very positive reaction to her name, so maybe my aversion is just me. I will say, the name has a pretty sound.

I really like it, though am not sure I'd use it. It's got a nice meaning and is very sweet-sounding.
