For the first 15 years of my life I absolutely loathed the name Oscar, but suddenly I feel as though it has a wonderful, antique charm to it. It's probably due in part to Oscar Wilde.

Weird.
I'm catching up on posts and just did my top 11-20 just below this one, and all three of these names popped up on that list for me. And I didn't even notice this post (as I work backwards from the bottom). :b

I really like Dorian in case of phonetics, but because of the book I don't even think about it. I really dislike Oscar Wilde - his sentimentalism, moralism. Quite honestly, I'm not very fond of Victorian literature, though I know it is very fashionable for the momoent. Actually the only Victorian books I read with pleasure are Sherlock Holmes-short stories, the two Alice-books and some Stevenson with some Eliot. :D

- Very Victorian, I kinda like the feeling it has.

- Over the top - very, very pretentious.

- A little pretentious, too, but I like the colours: lila with golden.

- Over the top, too. Something like Dorian George or Dorian Isaac could work. I really like Dorian Hugo.

Dorian is too feminine for me. Darian is preferable, though as I have said before I prefer Darius to both. HOwever Dorian Augustus has a nice masculine ring to to, so out of those I'd say that would be the one to go with.
Oscar, I like this, but it is becoming increasing popular which kind of puts me off. Oscar Valentine is a handsome combo however.
Desmond is a dreadfully dowdy name on it's own, but, with the mn Wilde it changes the feeling significantly. I would probably be pleased to see the combo Desmond Wilde, it's pretty umm, attractive actually, bordering on a little bit sexy!

Dorian does remind me of Dorian Gray, yes, but it's not an incredibly strong association, and I rather like it, anyway: I'm an Oscar Wilde fan. It also has a very nice Greek feel to it, for obvious reasons. I really like your combos of Dorian Francis and Dorian Augustus.
Though I said I'm an Oscar Wilde fan, I'm not a fan of his name. I blame Oscar the Grouch, mainly. I just can't get past that association. I do like the combo Oscar Dorian, though.
As for Desmond, I love it! Of your combos, I like Desmond Silas and Desmond Augustus the best - part of me wants to say "Desmond David!" but you can ignore it, because I'm just shamelessly stealing from Lost. My own personal combo for it at the moment is Desmond Oliver, and from looking at names on your PNL, I think Desmond Ignatius sounds pretty awesome, too.
