It's the -leigh part that makes it trendy. Shay's not there quite yet (and I do hope it turns back around and steps away from the door to the Arena of Trendy Names, and doesn't go in. Not even to use the bathroom real quick.)
It looks like two names got into an argument which then turned into a full-out fist fight and somehow they collided together awkwardly. It doesn't look right, or natural, and it's rather harsh to say. Not a fan. Mind, I hate manglings of the first half of my name. Leigh's always bothered me: it's long and has an almost unnecessary amount of letters. What's wrong with -ly, or -ley? Or even -lee? -Leigh is just so... many letters.
