WDYTO Delani?(m)
Any thoughts? I am starting to like this name alot. Would you prefer Delaney over Delani? I prefer Delani, of course.

I like Delaney. Delani looks like it would be pronounced differently, like Deh-lah-nee. Where as Delaney I say Deh-lay-nee.

My mother and sister "invented" this name before I was born, or so they thought, and wanted to name me Delani after my dad (his mn is Delano). But it was supposed to rhyme with Melanie. Then all the little Delaneys came along (deh-LAY-nee). So when I see Delani, I think DELL-ah-nee, or even deh-LAH-nee, but not instantly as a variant of Delaney. BTW, I loved Delani (rhyming with Melanie) when I was growing up and wished it was my name (until about age 10), but I really don't like it now, nor Delaney or any other "variant".

When I read Delani, I pronounce it Del-AW-nee. Not my favorite name, I've got to say.

Yes, I would much prefer Delaney. I like Delaney. Delani looks like someone got Denali wrong.ETA: Plus, I'd pronounce Delani deh-LAHN-ee, so they don't even sound the same to me.

Hmmm. I don't know, I guess I'm indifferent to it. I would definitely prefer Delaney, but I don't pronounce them the same (I don't know if you do). I pronounce Delaney as de-lane-ee, and Delani is de-LAHN-ee

DittoI prefer Delaney by far.

Neither. They are both rather trendy and find the sound unattractive and whiny. Not to my style at all.
