Celebrity BA
Celebrity chef Aldo Zilli and his wife Nikki, 32, welcomed their second child, daughter Twiggy, sometime last week. Aldo explained the unusual name choice, sharing that the famous British model Twiggy has always been a "style icon" and wants his baby girl to be as beautiful as she is. According to Aldo, the model "looks amazing as a grandmother" and he is hopeful that his "daughter looks as good at 30 as Twiggy does today!"

What if the girl doesn't grow up to be thin? Very stupid idea, and sexist.
They should have used her real name Lesley.

Wow, so what happens when she's not stick skinny? Nice job doing a preemptive strike on your child's self-esteem.
I'm speechless - and not in a good way - it's wrong on at least 2 levels

Twiggy is okay for a pet or as a NN, but as a full name for a child? Ugh. I don't like it at all. I don't care for Rocco either.
I love Rocco but not Twiggy, its honouring going abit too far imo.
The name itself is bearable, but I really dislike the reason why they picked it. Twiggy could be worse, but it's ok, and if they wanted to honor Twiggy the model then that's just fine. But to say that they named their daughter Twiggy just because they want her to be a beautiful style icon is... well, it's really shallow.
And speaking of Rocco, I met a Rocco today. He was about 5.

*gag*
First of all, can you spell Shallow? (Shhhh! Somebody will probably think Shallow makes a cute name!)
Second of all, Twiggy the Model *has* a real name. Her name is Lesley.
Third, Twiggy and Rocco sound like gangsters.
Fourthly, what's going to happen when little Twiggy turns out to be fat, pimply and bucktoothed?

What a strange trait to choose above all others to wish upon your child. If the family knows Twiggy or admires something she's done, that's different, but that article snippet makes it sound like they chose it because the original Twiggy is "pretty."
Well, that's a different kind of honoring...
Agree with Joan-Ay that Leslie would have been better, but what strikes me the most is that this is a lot to live up to. This just seems really shallow to me. I would think that my children are beautiful no matter what, not say that I hope they can live up to a standard set by the first supermodel. I mean, I guess I can see where he's going with it -- she aged gracefully, etc. -- but all in all, it's not really the kind of namesake I like to see in cultures already too obsessed with unrealistic standards of beauty.

Interesting name, cute but nms.
hhmmm
I too love Twiggy, but I wouldn't name my daughter after her. I would have named her Leslie (Twiggy's real name) if I wanted to honor her. Twiggy is just too nicknamey and silly sounding in my opinion. I think it works as a nickname for a model, but not as a given name.
