pronunciation ?
I keep seeing the name Carys for a girl and I don't know how to pronounce it. It looks like it might be pretty, but who's to say if you can't pronounce it?

KAH-riss/KAR-iss is the correct pronunciation (ie the Welsh one seeing as it's a Welsh name) rather than KARE-iss. Cerys is KEH-riss/KER-iss.I love it.

Kuh-riss. Very pretty!

If you like the sound of kuh-REES, maybe you could go for Carise or Carisse? Either of those would get your pronunciation across.Array

I think you could pr. it Care-iss or Car-iss (as in the word car).I think Carys is actually Car-iss and Cerys is Care-iss. Charis is Care-iss as well.

Thanks for the help. Although I will say I was hoping it was pronounced something like Kuh-REES. I can't say I'm a fan of Care-iss. There is a girl that goes to my school whos last name is Caras (pronounced the same as Carys) and she is terribly annoying and stuck up so that kind of ruined the name for me.

sorry ;) but yeah I think Care-iss is the right pronunciation. But the name is quite unusual so you could just tell people it was Kuh-REES. they probably don't know how to say it anyway. I like care-iss.
