You noticed?Lol. Was it that obvious? All of the Cullen's names are fabulous. I remember when I first read Twilight and Bella mentioned how they have such weird, old fashioned names, I was a little taken aback. I didn't find them weird and could see them at any age. I dunno, I'm just a name-nerd like that.

Agreed on all accounts :-)I'm a fan of the series as well. Well, I'm a fan of the first book - my sister lent the rest of her books to friends so I haven't read any of the others yet :/ I'm sort of hesitant to because I'm told they have a lot to do with Jacob and I don't really like him much. I can't wait for the movie. It's going to be so awesomely b-movie bad :-) GP all the way.
Gah - back on names! It's the book that helped wear me down on Jasper haha I'd seen the name a bunch here on the ops boards and was thinking it was alright but then I read the book and began to see it everywhere and eventually it became a favorite!

HaThe first thing I did was check the popularity on all of them and then I wanted to write Ms Meyer a letter about how "All of the Cullen 'children's' names were still in common usage except for Rosalie".

Lol! I originally wrote my reply as a long thing, which included how I searched the popularity and only Rosalie wasn't on the list (although it was on the list in the 1980s when the humans in the book were born)In the 80s:
Rosalie ranked 921
Jasper ranked 661
Emmett ranked 853
Alice ranked 335
Edward ranked 57Oh, how unpopular they were. Especially Edward.I mean, if she wanted names that could at least be dated to the time they were born, she could have chosen *goes off and finds names that fit the characters*:
Blanche (for Rosalie)
Otto (for Jasper)
Emil (for Emmett, it's even really similar)
Mabel (for Alice)And I don't know what for Edward. None of the names seem to fit him, and if they do, they have too much popularity.
